Baltimore Tai Chi’s Free Film Night

March 20, 2010

Babcock Presbyterian Church
8240 Loch Raven Blvd, Towson

See tai chi films and videos of renowned t’ai chi masters.  Bring snacks and drinks to share from 7 pm before the film starts.  The film showing begins at 7:30 pm and will include a short discussion.  This event is open to all and admission is free.
In these films these t’ai chi greats demonstrate their mastery of qi.  This is seen in the t’ai chi form, the t’ai chi sword, and push hands or sticking hands.  In the form, their movements have been described as being like clouds moving across the sky, effortless and in harmony with nature.  In push hands the manifestation of qi is seen in their ability to control opponents without the use of force.  Adherence to principles of t’ai chi such as yielding and softness, allow the t’ai chi masters to send opponents flying with ease.  This type of martial art ability is rarely seen.

Babcock Church is one mile south of Beltway exit 29 between Putty Hill Avenue and Taylor Avenue in Towson.
