About Baltimore Tai Chi

Baltimore Tai Chi offers tai chi, qigong and meditation classes in Baltimore and Towson.  We have been teaching in Baltimore and the surrounding area for over 20 years. Our goal is to help students to improve their long-term overall health and well being through the practice of tai chi, qigong and meditation. 


Baltimore Tai Chi is a vibrant and sociable community of tai chi teachers and teaching assistants. Our teaching team is led by Eric Johnson and Fiona Newton with over 40 years of combined experience. They have taught classes, workshops, and seminars for businesses, schools, and universities around the world. 

Our teachers usually teach in teams of at least two per class to ensure that students have plenty of attention and help in mastering their tai chi skills. All of our teachers are committed to their own personal development and practice of tai chi, and related arts, enabling them to teach you with skill and understanding.


Instructors with Baltimore Tai Chi have trained for many years in tai chi, qigong, and meditation, and continue with their own study. The most important foundation for our teaching is Grandmaster Sam Tam. He is a master of tai chi and many other martial and healing arts who is living and teaching today. His teaching is a constant source of inspiration for those seeking to improve their lives, their health, and their martial arts abilities.
